Statement of Need

The purpose of this training is to provide supervisors an overview of the importance of supervision, gain knowledge of qualities of effective supervision, and knowledge of evidence-based supervision models. Participants will also become familiar with the ethical, legal and clinical issues of supervision and learn how to address distinct issues related to supervision.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:

  1. Objective 1: Understand the purpose of supervision for supervisees

  2. Objective 2: Gain knowledge of qualities for effective supervision

  3. Objective 3: Understand the ethical, legal and clinical issues of supervision and learn how to address distinct issues related to supervision.

Credit Designation Statement

The National Board of Certified Counselors designates this material for a maximum 1.5 NBCC Continuing Education Credits.
